Ein paar Jahre sp\u00e4ter zog er dann nach Hong Kong wo seine Karriere als erfolgreicher Fotograf bei EPA (European Press Agency) begann. In Hong Kong arbeite Paul dann auch das erste Mal f\u00fcr Greenpeace. Aufgrund seiner ausserordentlichen F\u00e4higkeiten \u00fcber und unter Wasser begleitete Paul schon bald die Greenpeace Schifftouren und bebilderte die Meereskampagnen \u00abSave The Tuna\u00bb und \u00abMarine Reserves\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>W\u00e4hrend der letzten f\u00fcnf Jahre bew\u00e4hrte sich Paul immer wieder als idealer Fotograf f\u00fcr unsere Meereskampagnen. Unerm\u00fcdlich dokumentiert er Crew-Mitglieder, Aktionen und das Leben auf offener See. Immer wieder entstehen dabei weltklasse Bilder von unber\u00fchrten Teilen der Ozeane \u2014 aber auch von den Pl\u00fcnderungen die in diesen entlegenen Gegenden geschehen: illegale Fischerei mit zerst\u00f6rerischen Fangmethoden die die Ozeane und alles Leben in ihnen gef\u00e4hrdet.<\/p>\n<p>Auch neben seiner Arbeit f\u00fcr Greenpeace setzt sich Paul stark f\u00fcr den Erhalt der Meere ein. \u00dcber die barbarischen Praktiken des Shark Finnings (dem Abtrennen der Haiflossen vom meist noch lebenden K\u00f6rper der Haie) ver\u00f6ffentlichte er den Bild- und Kurzfilm \u00abMan and Shark\u00bb. Und beim \u00ab<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mantarayofhope.com\/\">Manta Ray of Hope<\/a>\u00bb Projekt leitet er die Ermittlungen, um die Auswirkungen von Kiemenreusen, die in der traditionellen chinesischen Medizin in Hong Kong und S\u00fcdchina verwendet werden, auf Rochen zu untersuchen und zu dokumentieren.<\/p>\n<p>In den letzten sieben Jahren hat Greenpeace nun schon zum 5ten mal bei den World Press Photo Awards &#8211;\u00a0 dem prestigetr\u00e4chtigsten Fotojournalismus Contest der Welt &#8211;\u00a0 einen Preis gewinnen k\u00f6nnen. In den letzten Jahren sogar dreimal in Folge. An ice penetrating radar is deployed from a string of four kayaks to survey a section of the Petermann glacier in Greenland. Three scientists, Jason Box, Richard Bates and Alun Hubbard, are working in partnership with Greenpeace. They fit a radar transmitter, receiver and antennas to the kayaks, to obtain valuable data on the processes operating over floating ice shelves. This reveals more of the complex nature of the ice thickness, basal melt-rates and insight into the breakup at the front section of Petermann. Natasha Popova (12) and Vadim Kuleshov (8) at a institution in Veznova. Natasha was born with microcephaly, Vadim has a bone disease and a mental disorder. Since Chernobyl there is an increase of children with physical or mental handicaps, especially in Belarus, which was more heavily contaminated. Socially and economically isolated, many parents are unable to take care of their children. State institutions often take them in. This institution in Veznova, in the contaminated region of Mogilov, is supported by the Irish Chernobyl Childrens Project. Chernobyl in the Ukraine became the site of the most infamous nuclear disaster accident of all. In 1986 the explosion of the nuclear reactor affected the lives of millions in Western Russia, Belarus and the Ukraine.
